I consider that the xero product offering is among the most capable and comprehensive currently available. it is capable in the senses that it can be adapted and set up to handle various types of trading transactions and handle the valuation and inventory of raw materials and finished stock items, as would be necessary in a retailing trading business for example. It is also capable of being tailored to many different types and sizes of businesses, of that I am sure.
On the flip side of this, however, it is relatively expensive, and if you are running a sole trader/director service business, with limited sources of income and only a few types of expenses, for example, the analogy of employing a sledge hammer to crack a nut, springs to mind, and I would look at some of the alternative products out there.
